How many times have you watched a movie and found yourself delighted by the great views and decor? Or even got inspired to change something at your own place after a good movie scene?

Different eras, places, and realities in the world shock us with the stunning decoration ideas we may see.

The fact is, we all have already imagined our lives inside the screen. So why not use it to get inspired and add some extra to our home design?

We present here our Top 7 Home Decors In Iconic Movies that will make you wanna change your interior design – and maybe after that, a little Netflix and chill…

7 – Call Me By Your Name (2017)

One of the most beautiful movie views was shot at the Villa Albergoni in Moscazzano, Italy

The 17th-century mansion is in the south of Crema and sadly not open to visitors, but if you’re visiting this area, you can stop by and see the outside for yourself!

The living room is full of Italian-inspired decor. The large wooden wardrobe, which Elio uses for his clothes and Oliver for his luggage, the piano, and slipcovered furniture, show us this awesome Italian good taste.

The fresco ceiling is the star of the show. There’s no way you watch the movie and not see it—the painting and huge pieces of art on the walls are so beautiful, they exude the essence of the design.

The frames on the pictures and doors, only give us the final touch to this masterpiece.

6 – Maria Antoinette (2006)

If you are of royal blood, money is not a problem. So go further on gold and crystals with this classic and glam style. Sometimes there really is no such thing as “too much”. To make your home truly feel like yours, you need to live it up. So, if you’re going to do something, why not go all out?

When you’re looking for the right accent piece to make your space stand out, consider a chandelier. It’s timeless and elegant, and it works well in any room—whether you want to add a bit of classic flair to your kitchen or make your living room memorable.

Add fabric panels on the walls for a touch of texture and depth. Gilded moldings will give an instant sense of luxury and refinement anywhere they’re applied. It’s not like gold will be much more expensive, right?

5 – Down With Love (2003)

If you’re into the mid-century modern styles and some colorful elements in your design, you’ll love the Down With Love aesthetic.

Barbara Novak’s mid-century-style home is full of bold colors and geometric patterns. It also features a living room complete with a pink curved sofa, while geometric details in the abstract art and brightly colored throw pillows complete the 1960s-inspired design.

Shapes and colors make this aesthetic so incredibly made! Also, this movie is a must-see!

4 – Under The Tuscan Sun (2003)

When the film Under the Tuscan Sun came out in 2003, it was like an epiphany for anyone who ever dreamed of moving to Italy or simply loves Italian designs.

It showed us what it looked like to live in a beautiful villa surrounded by gorgeous gardens and breathtaking views. Guess what?  You can rent the villa from Under the Tuscan Sun! If you’ve been fantasizing about the dreamy Italian lifestyle since the movie first came out.

As you can imagine, all the movie house was built and still preserves the Tuscan house style (it’s not hard to understand why. Just take a look at the movie title).

Tuscan design is one of the most popular and enduring styles in the world, and it’s no wonder why: it’s rustic and luxurious, with a naturalistic feel that’s easy to love.

3 – 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)

It’s quite amazing to see the way people imagined the future in the 1960s. It’s like looking at an old photo of yourself, but you know that your past self was actually imagining what you look like in the future. It’s a strange feeling, isn’t it?

Futuristic styles are always fun to explore because we can imagine old and dated things when we think 21 years ago. But for the 1960s, 2001 was a distant reality. So, it’s actually funny to see how they imagined the 2000s visual.

Even this odd past-future reality, though, can give us creative ideas of what to incorporate into our 2022/2023 reality.

Mixing styles can go really well (or not). We all know The Victorian-style room has been a hit for decades, but can it withstand the test of time? And trying to imagine it in a space station may look weird now.

But nothing is all bad! This all-white room with colorful chairs was straight to the aim.

2 – 500 Days Of Summer (2009)

If you haven’t seen 500 Days of Summer, you should definitely give it a watch!

The decor style is very eclectic, with lots of mismatched vintage finds that add personality and charm to the space. The palette is primarily shades of blue on white (or cream) with pops of color here and there in accessories like pillows and vases. Something nice is how easy it is to recreate: all you need is an eye for color coordination (and some thrifting skills!)

You can also get some inspiration from the color pallet and give your own vision to the design. A classic iron bed is a great choice to give your room a classic look mixing with modern elements.

1- Eat, Pray, Love (2010)

The decor style is all about creating a space that is yours, and yours alone. It’s about expressing your personality and making sure that you feel comfortable in the place you call home.

This is what we feel watching this movie. From Italy, and Bali, to India, we see marvelous indoor scenarios flooding our tv screens. The references worldwide are fresh and can be incorporated ‘till now.

The colors and textures of the Indian setting are key to the mood of this segment. The bright colors, incense, and fruit all convey a joyful message.

If you like classic, modern, Indian-inspired, Italian-inspired, or futuristic aesthetics, the best part is to have fun watching a good movie and take inspiration to give your house a new and fresh upgrade!
